There are a few things to keep in mind if you are thinking of purchasing LED grow lights for a greenhouse or indoor garden.

Output Spectrum

One of the things that needs to be considered with LED grow lights, is having the ability to adjust the output spectrum. LEDs are available in a wide range of colors. Purchase lights that are well suited for the type of plants you intend to grow and the seasons you will be growing them. Varying the light output makes it possible to simulate seasonal light changes that suit growing cycles of the plants.

Power Cooling System

High powered LED grow lights may need cooling. For this reason, it makes sense to select fixtures that come with a high quality cooling system. The fixtures may not radiate any heat because they are designed to offer a quick and easy way for the heat to escape, but it still makes sense to consider a fan or heat sink.

Size of Grow Space

Knowing the size of your growing area will makes it possible to purchase the correct LED grow light. The size dictates the number and also the size of units the area needs. Generally, 25 watts of power is suitable for a square foot of growing space for plants that require high light.
